Wildland Weeds magazine is the official quarterly publication of the Florida and Southeast Exotic Pest Plant Councils and all affiliated chapters. The purpose of the magazine is to provide a forum for communication for all those interested in invasive plant issues in the southeastern U.S. The editorial committee encourages articles on topics including current research, invasive plant biology, ecology and control methodology, taxonomy, impacts of exotic pest plants, case studies and other related subjects thought to be of interest to readers. The editor welcomes submissions for the Internodes section of Wildland Weeds, including announcements of new publications, conferences, informative web sites, new control techniques and equipment, and other short items.
Manuscripts may be submitted via e-mail, on CD, or on other electronic media. Preferred format is Microsoft Word or Word Perfect. Individual articles should not exceed 2,000 words. The authors' full names, affiliations, and contact information must be included. Scientific names are to be supplied at first mention of common names of taxa. It is the author's responsibility to check the accuracy of any references that have been cited in the text.
Photographs must be submitted separately and not imbedded within the text of the article. Line drawings, maps and graphs also should be submitted as separate documents. Both slides and digital photos are accepted, but digital photos should be 300 dpi at the desired size of the published photograph. Please provide photo credits.
The editor welcomes submission of photographs for the cover of Wildland Weeds. Due to the size of the cover, the preferred format for cover photographs is slide film. However, digital photos can be accepted that are 300 dpi at 8.5" x 11". Please contact the editor for assistance in determining the resolution of photos. Photographs must be in sharp focus and in portrait orientation. Submissions must be accompanied by the photographer's full contact information and a full description of the photo, including date and location.
